Would be nice to see this Screen Recorder updated to support MP4 video format and more advanced video formats. These days, many play advanced 3D games on AmigaNG models like the X1000 and X5000, in 1920x1080 resolution. The recorder needs to support full hardware acceleration. Would enjoy to play 3D games on my X5000 and record it to YouTube, much like you do with XBox One games on XBox.

I like the theme in the 1.26 screenshot. Are you able to upload it, or tell us where we can find it? Thanks.

@Elwood It's well known that that version of mplayer can't handle it. We're hoping that liveforit will enable the ZMBV codec in his build of libavcodec. The codec is used because it's very suitable for this purpose. Other codecs would require extra steps in the encoding.

Do you know the output file cannot be read by Mplayer (6.5.7)? It says: Cannot find codec 'zmbv' in libavcodec The video can be converted with FFmpeg so that's no big deal but it requires an extra step. Maybe you can use a codec that can be played directly. Thanks salas00

Great to see development of this tool has been taken up again :) However, the program freeze the Amiga after running the GUI. A minor bug that can be fixed. Also wonder how to be able to use the Tool Keys of SRec to record and to stop recording, without activating the SRec GUI at all. Looking forward to see further improvements to this excellent tool.

@DieterG There never was any OS4.0-compatible version of SRec. I've thought of allowing it to work on OS4.0 using only software scaling instead of hardware accelerated with CompositeTags but this is too slow to be usable IMO.

@Scriptjester It always records the frontmost screen. That is to say it records what is visible on your monitor more or less as long as you don't use the screen dragging feature.

It's a great program. Will you make it record only a specific part of the screen?

@dave Actually SRec versions < 0.7 generated raw xvid streams (no avi or other container format used) which weren't playable using most players except for MPlayer. There's a note about it in the changelog file. @Wishmaster As you can see, in v1.1 your "wish" has been fulfilled.

Thanks, very cool program! I can watch here the videos with DVPlayer on OS4.1 - you just need to install all codecs.

@anonymous You have used the latest MPlayer (1.0rc2)? http://www.amigasoft.net/pages/mplayer/mplayer.asp At least all videos I've created so far using SRec 0.5+ have played without problems. Also try running MPlayer from a CLI so that you can get more information on what is wrong. VLC and DvPlayer doesn't play xvid so it's no use trying with those.
