As much as it's Scripts' installer, it's an audio demo. I could have used Flite speech engine or low frequency samples to make the archive smaller but it sounded so much better with the high quality samples. Besides there is no rule that installer must be smaller than the actual program :)

You are right that the scripts not meant for the Workbench shouldn't appear in the menu. I had a plan for filtering out non-Workbench scripts but I decided to leave that to the next version. At the moment it filters out .info files.

I will develop it further, if people find Scripts useful.

9mb to install 8kb of script is frankly ridicoulous, please don't ever do that again!

Right that the negative bit over :-)

As to the utility itself it's a nice idea, but has some flaws, the biggest of which is piling loads of scripts into a menu that aren't designed to be in a menu.
Perhaps some GUI where you might choose which scripts to add? As you allready have a script arexx interface you could use ProAction for that. You could also monitor the script dir and ask if new scripts were to be added to the menu.

@HKvalhe
I changed the pull-down menus as non-blocking sticky panels (GUI Preferences editor's Menu settings) and then used SGrab to take a screenshot when the Scripts menu was open.

I would have liked to use a Python script and Installation Utility for the installation because of the very nice GUI it provides for the installation. Since I'm a Python novice, I couldn't figure out how to integrate the speech into the installation process. That's why I had to settle for an AmigaDOS script and use requesters and Ringhio.

However, I'm happy with the speech parts. It sounds like a female version of the "2001: A Space Odyssey" HAL computer :)

I too was really impressed by the speakable installation, and Ringhio delivered every message of the installation progress! The Scripts Menu is very useful, and it was easily installed!

Say, how do i take a screenshot of a menu? I will donate next week when i get my payment :)
