I don't get the point of this program. It says for when you can't use >NIL:. Does that mean when >NIL: doesn't do the job of silencing the output? Using *>NIL: >NIL: always works and no AREXX or sh is needed.

I write program not scripts, so this only way I can do it. Sure there might other ways using AREXX, or SH, but for SH you need a OS4 SDK.

Maybe you can try with '*>NIL:' too, ex: #appdir:mplayer >NIL: *>NIL: SDH8:MuchachadaNui_ComoNosReimos.mp4 doesn't show anything on console. IIRC '>NIL:' is stdout and '*>NIL:' is error_output (or something similar)
