Phantom: Either forget about the later releases on that system or use the low resolution mod (minicore - that one runs just fine on G3 at least for 0.17).

Really nice game, and I have tested all the previous ports. I didn't have problems with speeds, but now in this release even on 640x480 in window mode and all extras to off, the game is somewhat slow, and it stalls every 2-3 seconds while you move around. I didn't have such problems in previous releases. Tested on PegasosII G4, 1GB RAM and ATI Radeon 9250 256MB.

Amigan: Stefan Beller corrected the sound thing for 0.17. If you put volume to zero the game should speed up. Reth: I guess this file issue will also have been fixed in 0.17?

Unfortunately 0.16 on Amiga seems to mix/mess up some graphics. Since I chose the same character as with 0.15 (ranger which is shown with green clothes) a different character art is shown (with brown leather clothes and bald heat where the hair seems to be misplaced behind the head) . When I tested the same on windows this does not happen!

@Thematic Thanks for considering it. I have no experience with C compilers, so i'd better wait for an update.

@Amigan I think I have located where to do exactly this, but I'd do this for the next release, so if someone wants to recompile 0.15: look for Mix_PlayMusic in MapIso.cpp

Hi. I have test this game with my Amiga 1200 running AmigaOS 4.0 and the game is almost playable! I think i have found an obvious bug which could affect the performance of the game considerably. Even when i set music_volume to 0, the hard disk is constantly been accessed throughout the game and this possibly means that the ogg music is still being decoded and streamed. If this is true, then the game will run a lot faster, once this bug gets fixed!

@Thematic: Thanks, will try that! Just spent the last hours playing Flare on my Peg2! Some other questions: Is this already a complete game (at least I cannot get rid of the goblins as my first task/quest - as soon as I'll be "reborn" or reenter the area after leaving it for some deals all of them are there again, making it impossible to finish the job - or did I miss sth.?)? Second one: How is the movement of the characters being implemented (in terms of the animated movement on top of the static background)? Doublebuffering or sth. else?

As per the 'README', Flare will create settings.txt (in the main game directory) if it doesn't find it. So you could rename your existing settings.txt to get all the choices. As for fullscreen, it is enabled by "fullscreen=1", but the game resolution which works best is 720x480 - in any case I recommend window in this case (no Warp3D acceleration here, so performance doesn't suffer so much by that).

Many thanks for this great game! One question: Where can I find about all possible setting parameters (fullscreen for example)?

@cha05e90 Hmmm. I have TuneNet and a CPU Meter in my AmiDock too. I'll try to remove them. Thanks for the tip.

@Phantom PegasosII: Same here - by chance I deactivated some stuff in my AmiDock (CPU Meter, TuneNet, Granite) and all of a sudden it worked. SAM440ep: Worked out of the box without changing my AmiDock programs... ?!?

Freezes after you've selected your character. Just tried once (didn't have time for thoroughly testing).

0.14 (out now) has configurable framerate - 20 fps is IMO alright for any AmigaOne.

Well, having tried this on a fast Win box, it runs a bit faster. IMO too fast, it's really hard to control in a tight spot.

@K-L Strange about "slow", because on my peg2 / 1ghz /radeon9250 on 32bit WB all is fast. Much faster than many other games.

Thansk a lot, really, for one of the best game for AmigaOS 4.x. Too bad it's really slown if WB is in 32bits. Playing in 16 bits make things a lot better. Some parts are rather slow by the way (even on a G4 1Ghz) but is still playable enough. Thanks again !
