Would be great to have a little GUI to play on workbench. So we can see an avatar male, female, robot etc. when we change the voices. If i have a little more time may be i can do it with hollywood and the mui-royal gui.

really cool, narrator.device compatibility would be really cool. and then it has to be included into amigaos4.1.3, morphos and aros.

That's something I've considered but won't do because to put it simply there's a lot of legacy stuff associated with the "narrator.device" API. A lot of stuff that I will not be able to support. I'd rather make a clean new API that new programs can make use of and that can easily be extended to support features that Flite has but narrator.device doesn't. A better idea IMHO would be to later (if possible) make a narrator.device emulation that converts narrator.device calls into flite.device ones. I'm currently working on extending the flite.device API to add new functionality like setting speed/pitch of the voice as well as inputting phonemes directly (as with narrator.device) and output to a RIFF-WAVE file. Maybe also raw PCM output to memory if it's feasible.

Why not make it compatible with the original narrator.device and rename it?
