MiniAmpDeluxe (Beta Version) This is a little program created with Hollywood 2.0 that is designed to be a minimized interface for controlling the main functions of AMPlifier through its ARexx port. Unlike the regular "MiniAmp," this "deluxe" version does not work with AmigaAMP, because AmigaAMP lacks the needed ARexx calls. MiniAmpDeluxe (like MiniAmp) is somewhat skinable (in that the individual graphical parts can be edited). The default look matches the famous "Zami" theme. Also included are images to make MiniAmpDeluxe match the "Atez" and "MT" themes. You can, of course, make your own images as well (just replace the files "Main.iff," "MainMenu.iff," and "Scroller.iff" in the "Brushes" drawer with the alternate images of your choice). You can also change the color of the text by editing the "Preferences" file. (The default color is 90E1FE, but you might want to use something like ECEA8D if you are using the Atez theme or D8EAAD if you are using the MT theme.) The executable file can have its tooltype edited to cause MiniAmpDeluxe to appear on different screens (PUBSCREEN=<screen name>). Additionally, if you have MiniAmpDeluxe assigned to a keyboard shortcut, MiniAmpDeluxe will jump to whatever screen is front and active at the time. To use: *Start AMPlifier *Begin play of a single file or list of mp3s *Launch MiniAmpDeluxe Important notes about this "beta" version: The BAD news: Right now, Hollywood does not have an ARexx interface, so in order to do real-time status updates, MiniAmpDeluxe would have to write and rewrite temp text files every second (and I did not want to do that). But what MiniAmpDeluxe CAN still do is update track and time information when MiniAmpDeluxe is first started, and whenever a new mp3 in the list begins to be played, and whenever the forward or reverse buttons OF MINIAMPDELUXE are used (but not when the AMPlifier interface is used to change songs). So if you are going to change your list of songs to be played, close MiniAmpDeluxe, and then restart it after your new selection(s) has been made. Also, pausing and stopping from AMPlifier while MiniAmpDeluxe is running will only confuse MiniAmpDeluxe (because right now there is no real-time status updates). If the following general rule is obeyed, you should never have any problems: Do not have AMPlifier and MiniAmpDeluxe open at the same time. The GOOD news: Andreas Falkenhahn stated on the Hollywood support forum that an ARexx interface is planned for the next version of Hollywood. So once the new Hollywood comes out, the limitations (all the BAD news) of this beta version should disappear. Change Log: Version 1.2: Added playlist support. Version 1.1: Fixed the problem of flickering text that would appear as time went on. Version 1.0: First attempt. |
